a charming story: kristina and clayton part 1

This is a story that I wouldn’t even know where to begin if I tried. I could start by revisiting my Florida State University days, when my husband and I first fell in love and met an incredible family at our church. I could tell you how the Chason’s have 8 children and how some of them were in the youth group where Rahul served as the associate and how some were in the children’s ministry, where I was the intern. I could probably even pull out some old photographs, but I’m not much for embarrassing myself! The bottom line though, is that we loved them all very much and were able to be a unique part of their lives- a part that we still treasure to this day.

But, although the past is precious and the memories rich, the story must go on…

Months ago, Kristina emailed me to share that she was living in the area and was engaged. She wanted me to capture her special day and for Rahul to be involved as well. Turns out, he had the opportunity to lead Kristina and Clayton in their pre-marital counseling and I had the honor of being a small part of that time too.

It was precious. Words simply couldn’t explain the things that happened during that time and should I try to type them all here, I would run out of space. One thing rings true- God rocked it! It was beyond humbling to see Him move in such powerful ways.

All that to say, I knew going into this wedding that I was clearly more emotionally tied to the couple than at any other wedding I’ve ever captured. I warned Sarah, my second shooter and cousin, that she may have to step in, if the tears took over… but alas, I survived!

Kristina and Clayton got married in Tallahassee, as you probably already figured out, one of my favorite places of all time. They selected the lovely and charming Goodwood Museum for their special day. It was perfect, which seemed to me, quite fitting for this beautiful new beginning!

Ok, enough of me, it’s time for the pictures- well, it’s time for some of the pictures! There are so many I want to share, I’m having to split the blog post up for this special couple! You see, Kristina has impeccable taste and it was displayed in every part of this day. We’re talking dreamy details for a photographer!!

Kristina’s dress was incredible!

Kristina’s shoes were equally as stylish and if you’ve been following this blog for very long, you already know I have a thing for this particular detail during any session! It just so happens that Sarah felt the same way about this pair of heels- so I introduce you to one gorgeous pair of Gianni Bini’s!

While I was shooting the shoes, Kristina’s youngest brother tagged along. He was fascinated by the old car and I couldn’t help but to document his curiosity!

Love this one of Sarah’s!

I wanted to capture some of the natural charm of the property and hanging these beauties near all the leaves just seemed like the perfect way to do it!

The girl’s got ready in the Carriage House. What a fun and glamorous room!

Annie Agarwal Photography now offers make up services?! Ok, just kidding- but Sarah was the perfect pair of steady hands  to help with eye liner. So glad you were with me girl!

Slipping into the gorgeous dress! The perfect accessory for such a stunning bride!

Clayton chose a fabulous suit for the big day. I am such a fan of this style for the guys and the tie just sealed the deal!

Sarah ran over to capture the guys getting ready for a few minutes. I love the emotion she documented! For the record, there was a huge television in the corner, with a video game system hooked up… yes, Clayton’s groomsmen thought of everything!

As many of you know, I’m also a HUGE fan of the first look. There is something so special about the bride and groom seeing one another before the ceremony. In fact, every couple that’s made this decision has come back to me and shared that it was their favorite part of the day! Friends, Clayton and Kristina defined why the first look was invented:

Kristina’s mom and little sister walking her down to Clayton.

This might be one of my faves from the day (one of like a million)!! Clayton was waiting so patiently while we got Kristina in place. Right before the big moment her mom ran back over for a last minute kiss. This moment couldn’t be more perfect!

That is one happy man!

Whew, talk about a teaser! More of the lovely Mr. and Mrs. Gledhill coming soon!
