I can hardly believe the day is here! We’ve literally been walking this rebranding journey for over a year: brainstorming, rethinking, creating and reworking to make a better experience for each of our awesome clients and to better represent our business, as well. It feels somewhat like birthing a baby- you painstakingly prepare for it, mull over the changes it will bring to your life for hours, you sweat, you get nervous, but then you realize the beauty of the moment and you step into it boldly, with excitement- even though there is an element of the unknown! Today is that day.
The process of rebranding has been a complete compilation of many of the dearest people in my life. Close to 2 years ago, my cousin and I began sketching designs and concepts; but I just couldn’t make a final decision. Perhaps, it was because I still wasn’t sure of exactly where God was taking this business or because I was lacking the confidence in making a choice that seemed so “final.” After all, I knew I didn’t want to have to revisit and reinvent the wheel (or my logo) all the time, just to keep up with a current trend. I wanted something that would last. Something that was timeless. Something that truly reflected me.
I began to think about the things that served as inspiration. The things that brought joy and smiles to my face. I walked through my home and noted colors and styles that best reflected my personality and I took note. I collected these ideas and sent them off for someone to dream up visual concepts for the thoughts running through my mind. When the first set of designs came through from the talented Leslie Vega, I was immediately drawn to one in particular and after multiple revisions and countless emails, I realized it really was “the one.”
While some of you have been spotting our new logo in secret hidden places, for most of you, this is the first reveal. Gone are the days of the hand-painted black and white circle I created at my parent’s dining room table years ago. Instead, a lovely design that fits beautifully into the next phase of Annie Agarwal Photography will mark our work. Drawing from a color palette that is reminiscent of the sea (one of my favorite locations) and a simplistic design that keeps the focus on the stories being told in the imagery, our new logo and site are helping us reshape this business in a unique and refreshing way!
It’s an amazing transformation to say the least! But then again, the Lord has brought this business a long way over the years, so it seems fitting that there would be a dynamic shift, even in our re-branding.
I really wanted the focus of the entire process to be grounded in the concept of “stories,” because anytime I have the privilege of capturing your moments, I am documenting yours. I also loved this concept because it reminds me to continually stay true to my own story, hand written by The Author of Life. I never want this business to be my story. I want Him to be my story and this business to be an avenue by which I can share His love and grace with others. I want each new chapter to bring glory to Him. And, I’ll count it as an incredible honor to capture the stories that He has given you.
I can’t wait to begin using this new logo in so many fun and creative ways. And oh my goodness, this site- well, I am simply thrilled to finally have a single, unique and customized location to display your stories where the images will truly shine. (And this post would be remiss without an incredibly special shout out to my talented husband, for his uncanny computer skills, that have made all of this possible. I can have an idea, but he truly does have the ability to make it operate and function seamlessly online! I couldn’t have done any of this without him!)
We couldn’t be more excited to share these awesome changes with you today, but we need your help to spread the word! In celebration of the launching of our new site and logo, we’re giving away some pretty sweet prizes!
