When Jenny shared with me, many months ago, that she wanted a bright and colorful celebration for their wedding, I was so excited. She was embracing the things that made her heart smile: pops of color, bright florals, turquoise dresses and family heirlooms. Oh how I was eagerly anticipating the final results; and they were was as stunning and unique as Jenny herself.
Nestled in a quiet little room in the church, all these details started to come together. Her stunning dress hanging from a crystal chandelier, handmade ballet slippers created by her mom, her grandmother’s jewelry, a bouquet that took our breath away. Everything was classic and beautiful, simple yet profound. It was a perfect fit for this lovely bride.
Jake and the guys didn’t disappoint either- with dapper bow ties and super surprising socks, they had a style all their own. These three guys’ laughter and excitement for the day was contagious.
This wedding was a family celebration, with so many special guests in attendance and so much love surrounding the bride and groom that it was invigorating. This was also a particularly memorable time, as Jenny and Jake have been planning a wedding in different states, while both completing their degrees. Talk about patience, long suffering, creativity and perseverance!
But the sweetest thing I’ve experienced since knowing this couple; and perhaps the one lesson that will carry them the farthest is their realization that proximity alone doesn’t make a relationship successful. They recognize AND live out the fact that God is the foundation and that with Him, truly all things are possible!
Here’s to a million more celebrations over the years for Jenny and Jake, where His love and their commitment to one another encourages, blesses and impacts others!
